Kolkata Durga Puja: Reminiscing the grandeur

Being from Eastern India, Durga Puja was not something new for me. The music, the pandals, the joy, the excitement; I had already seen everything. I was vacillating between an urge to go to my hometown during puja and the curiosity to stay back and experience the famed “Kolkata Durga Pujo” (as Bengalis say it). Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery is a monastic centre where hundreds of Buddhist monks are engaged in studying, practicing and promulgating the teachings of Lord Buddha. It is situated in a small town called Mirik near Darjeeling in West Bengal. It is an extremely beautiful and colourful monastery.
